Evey beta testing is unique.  Here's my documentation on my experience of installing Windos 7 Beta 1 that started on the weekend of January 10th 2009, I downloaded Windows 7 Beta.  Then, I decided to plan my deployment in following scenario:
  1. Do a clean install on a Virtual PC 2007 build a virtual machine
  2. Do a clean install on a Hyper-V and build a virtual machine
  3. Do a clean install on a six year old IBM A31(Intel mobile Pentium 4 1.8ghz, w/1GB Memory and 35GB disk) laptop.

Then, check for installation bugs and/or misbehavior.

Some would say its the latest CTP (#3).  But, I don't think so.  Take a look and compare the two version using the $PSversionTable variable.  As you can see below in the picture, they are not the same.

I may dare to say that Window 7 Beta has the PowerShell V2 Beta (unofficially).  What's you opinion?
Then, when is the beta available for download.  I don't like the fact that on the Window Server 2008, only the R2's will have the new version of PowerShell and its only for 64bit System.   Will Microsoft have the V2 available for the 32bit Windows Server?  I'm mssing the boat in building a Server Core with PowerShell V2 and I'm dying to test this product.
